All work and no play is okay with Cohen!

This post is mostly dedicated to Jeff, since he made the comment last week that he wanted some video proof  of Cohen begging to mow grass so that when it becomes the chore that he hates when he's a teenager, we can remind him how much he used to love it!  Although I've been posting pictures of Cohen riding the lawn mower with Jeff since he was five months old, it has recently become more of an obsession for him.  He used to only ask to ride the "tractor" when he saw Jeff mowing out in the yard...now he requests to "mow grass" on an almost daily basis.

Cohen and his true love!

It's official...my baby is a redneck!

I'll race you!

Cohen took the lead!

You might be a redneck if... (P.S. I dare you not to laugh at the minor accident Cohen has)!

Consequences of tailgating...a mouth full of grass!

Git r Done!

While his passion has always been mowing, Cohen is now branching out to other yardwork as well (pun intended)!!  Apparently some of these tree limbs were interfering with Jeff's ability to mow effectively so they had to be cut down.  Luckily he had me there to supervise to make sure that he didn't butcher these poor trees that the weather has been really hard on in the last few years.  We are down from three to two, or technically one and a half since they are both struggling.  Lucky for Jeff, he also had this muscle man to help him drag the limbs over to the riverbank!

He may not be the type of child prodigy that can read at age 2 and we haven't had much success with the alphabet or counting yet, but you can be sure he can name almost every power tool in the garage!  My sweet little redneck boy!

He's not afraid of a chainsaw, but he was not impressed with this tiny frog that momma rescued from the lawnmower!

Cohen has a bright future ahead that involves owning spotless, shiny vehicles.  He has a dad and a grandpa who will teach him their expert techniques.  There are not too many things that Jeff is very particular about, but I gave up washing cars with him before we even got married...I definately do not meet his high standards for proper car washing!  Fortunately, Cohen will be trained from a young age and he will get plenty of practice since I'm pretty sure his grandpa washes vehicles multiple times per week.  Here is one of Cohen's training sessions with his daddy:

"If there's bubbles involved, I'm in!"

"I'll just check them out for you..."

Good form son!

The funny part that I couldn't get on video is that the water was sometimes so strong that it knocked him down when he started spraying!!

Prouse men take pride in their rides!

This happened while daddy took a bathroom break...proper carwashing is way more serious than this!

Try to look past the really bad haircut we got yesterday!

Then the ice cream truck came by and daddy lost his little helper!

"Looking good dad...looking real good."

I don't know about his carwashing skills, but his shirt staining skills are amazing!
Not too sad about getting hosed off!

Sappy Sahser's Day

Let's just disregard the fact that I haven't had a post since April and move on!  So I've got some catching up to do!  We enjoy every second with Cohen these days and especially enjoyed our Father's Day weekend, so I didn't want to forget any details!  Any and all holidays are extremely busy for us, but our sweet little boy has just learned to go with the flow.  Saturday, I had a baby shower to go to in Charleston at 2:00 so Jeff and I decided to spend some extra time with our dads while we were in town.  After they dropped me off at the shower, Jeff and Cohen took a new Father's Day grill to Jeff's dad.  Apparently the present was a big hit since Glen immediately went to the store and purchased steaks, hamburger and hot dogs (for approximately three people to eat)!  My sister came in from VA for Father's Day and we made plans to take my dad to dinner.  We spent some time at my grandparents house before we all went to eat at a Mexican restaurant in town and then managed to save room for Dairy Queen for dessert.  It was nice to be able to enjoy a meal with my family, since most of the times I've sat down at the table with them in the last two years, I rarely get to be a part of the "grown-up" conversations!  We spent some time talking about things we did when my sister and I were growing up (like going to drive-in movies), which made me thankful for such a fun childhood that I hope to be able to give to Cohen also!  They all dropped me off at Jeff's parents house and Cohen was so excited to have the attention of seven of his favorite people that he didn't know who to talk to first!  He mainly showed off his driving skills on the mini-John Deere tractor that his MawMaw and PawPaw got him for his birthday.  After my parents left, I had to make a second trip to Dairy Queen with Jeff's family since Cohen had been talking about a milkshake since early that morning.  I want to state for the record that I did NOT have a second ice cream while I was there!  We decided a little to late that we should have planned on staying the night in town, so we had to drive all the way back to Barboursville at 9:00 - Cohen was up way past his bedtime!

Staying up past his bedtime might not have been a bad thing since Cohen slept until almost 9:00 on Saturday and Sunday morning!  Jeff started his Father's Day with a breakfast of champions!

He requested a Tudor's biscuit AND mini donuts!

Then Cohen worked on making some Father's Day cards for his grandpas...I found some recordable cards at Hallmark that he could also put stickers on.  I wanted his grandpas to be able to remember how MUCH he loved them when he was two.  (Not that he won't love them ten times more when he gets older!)  The message that he recorded for my dad was "Paw-Paw Dave CoCo baby," which he randomly said one day back in April and has repeated hundreds of times since.  Jeff's parents who keep Cohen four days a week started telling him that he is "Maw-Maw's doll baby and Paw-Paw's big man," which he started repeating around Easter and has never stopped!  So Paw-Paw's message was of course "Paw-Paw's big man," which he usually prefers to yell!

I had to include this one since his mouth was open...for some reason he was drooling so bad and got drool all over the cards!!  His special touch I guess!

We had dinner with my grandparents and besides providing all the entertainment, Cohen also helped all the fathers open their cards and gifts!

"We look good right Paw-Paw Dave?"

Cohen is very lucky to have so many wonderful men in his life who love him so much.

Cohen and his Pops

I love that someone who has made me laugh all of my life thinks that my little boy is so funny!

"Paw-Paw Dave CoCo Baby!!"

Cohen loves to be "high in air"

Since we didn't get to give Jeff's dad his Father's Day cards while we were in town on Saturday, we made a stop at their house before going home on Sunday.  Cohen fell asleep in the car on the way to their house so he took a long nap when we got there.  Jeff's dad made some more food on his new grill and we watched Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s big win, which according to Jeff and his dad was a "Father's Day present for everyone!"  Cohen helped his PawPaw open the card he made for him when he got up from his nap.

"Wow, someone made you a really nice card Paw-Paw!"

Paw-Paw and his Big Man!

Since Jeff said what he really wanted for Father's Day was "big and orange and sitting in a boat dealership in Wheelersburg" I didn't work too hard on trying to find any gifts for him from Cohen this year.  He seemed to enjoy this "bubble bath" that Cohen gave him when we got home though!  Cohen is becoming so friendly and waves and/or says "hi" to everyone we see, everywhere we go...I think he is so much like his daddy in this way, which I love since I prayed when I was pregnant to have a child with Jeff's outgoing personality.  I guess the Jeff look-alike that I got was just an added bonus!

A happy daddy!
Not sure who was having more fun!

Sappy Sahsher's Day!
